Dad's 60th Birthday Bash

We had a great time celebrating with family for my Dad's 60th (wow!) birthday!  Everyone enjoyed kayaking, the Diefenbach family tradition of eating and eating and eating, and enjoying the beautiful weather on the Key Peninsula.

Horray For Kayaks!

So we finally bucked up and bought some kayaks! We took them out on the first of many excursions on the Willamette River today around Ross Island.  All went very well except for the jerky boater who speed up next to us and caused all the wake to go into Kendras kayak. Luckly it was a sunny day and everything dried out fast...who need dry pants at the pub after anyways.

PORTER AUGUST

On August 7th we welcomed our new nephew Porter Casimer August to the world!  He is so adorable!!!  What a handsome little prince.

PRIDE 2009 - Portland, OR

Portland Pride was a hoot.  The parade, of course, was the highlight but we also managed to fill the weekend full of hula hooping (thanks to our hippie friend Jen), fire, face paint and last - definitely not least - Choco Tacos!

WORST DAY OF THE YEAR RIDE  2-15-09

We (Angie, Kendra, Nicki, and Alyssa), AKA the Royal Roadsters,  participated in the worst day of the year ride; which actually turned out to be a beautful day! It was eighteen miles full of clouds, sun, doughnuts, cocoa (with schnapps), chili, and beer.  We feel awesome this evening...we'll see about tomorrow...

Weekend Getaway

We took a weekend trip to the coast a few weeks ago and had epic 60 degree weather! Definitely did not feel like Januray.  Check out the pictures!

Happy 2009!

Well, the holiday season has flown by as usual. We were busy with piñatas, shuffleboard, birthdays, family, and friends.  Let’s see…what else have we been up to…Angie got a few new cameras so she has been very busy playing with those (I’m sure you will see some results soon). We got guitar hero for Christmas and are now becoming rockstars. I have started another wheel throwing class and am excited to see how my butter dish turns out.   Angie is determined to learn how the play the ukulele before camping season begins.  Oh ya, we started screen-printing, so if anyone has any requests let us know!

Here are some pictures from the month or so…

THE DEEP FREEZE! (thanks to KATU news for the catchy title)

Yesterday (12/20) we got about 6-8 inches of snow! Yippeeeee! But now there is about 1/4 inch of ice on top so we are pretty much home bound.  We will adventure out for toilet paper and wine a bit later.

P.S.  Check out the Adventures tab for Whistler pictures

UPDATE: Now we have about 1 ft. of snow! woohoo!

Bridget's 30th Birthday Party at the cabin

We had a relaxing weekend at the cabin to celebrate my big sister's big 30th birthday.  I think we are still in a food coma from all the great eats.

p.s. we want a rematch at Cranium!

Joe Sacco, Me, and Mia Kirshner Joe Sacco, Me, and Mia Kirshner

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to attend a book reading with the beautiful and talented Mia Kirshner.  Her book is entitled I Live Here, and I recommend that everyone go out and buy it, or check out the website at www.i-live-here.com.

A good time was had by all on Halloween.  Ang (the science goober that she is) did a GIS analysis on number of kids within a half mile radius of our house to determine how much candy we were going to need...let's just say that it was a good thing that we didn't have 1,174 pieces of candy.  Mogi went as a Bumble Bee, Angie as Maverick, and Me as the lady from Flashdance.

We hosted cabin party 2.0 at the cabin.  It was great to see all of our Bellingham friends and mix in a Portland one as well.  A new addition to our traditional activities was a naked polar bear swim at 3am in the Puget Sound.

Summer 2008

Summer was crazy as usual. I think we were in Portland one weekend where we didn't have any commitments.  The highlights would have to be our trips to Crater Lake and Iceland.  Check out the Adventures page for pictures. Angie will also be updating the Photography page soon with some awesome pictures from many of her new cameras...so keep checking in!
